I'm fine with giving Clausen a chance to compete to be "the guy". But right now nobody in their right mind can trust him with that job on his own.

We HAVE to draft Luck or sign a genuine Vet who can win games in the NFL.

If you need Mike Martz, a stellar O-line, and 2 veteran recievers to not have the worst rating in the league then you ain't that great.

The game is just too fast for him and he is very unwilling to push the ball down field. Hopefully it gets better.

No, confidence comes from success born of hard work and effort. Golden nuggets of knowledge dispensed for free. Your welcome.

And delusions of grandeur come from neurochemical and neuroanatomical defects.

Grammar is a product of effort, too... you're welcome.

(a) Clausen is terrible because he is ...well.... terrible.

Mostly (a) above with a lot of help from (B) below.

(B) Clausen is terrible because he is playing behind a suspect OL, has 1 veteran WR with a hurt hand, and has Jeff Davidson calling plays.

Hard to say. He needs a quicker release but he can't be quick enough to make up for the Oline too.

I disagree, I believe even AE could do better and I'm no AE fan.
But I will say we don't need to throw another youngin in that situation.

I say A. He can't make all the throws a NFL qb should be able to make.

B, with a dash of A.

Go back and look at tape of Drew Brees in his first couple of years.

I will be shocked if he is with the team after next season, and even more shocked if he does not do well elsewhere. This is a terrible system for him, and his strengths.

Some players get it and just run with it. Some take a little longer to get it but when they do, they turn into good players, then some never do get it. I'm hoping he's in the some take a little longer category for his sake.

Just watching the Jets, Bears game highlights how archaic our offense is. The embarrassing thing is both the Bears & Jets offenses are actually two of the 'middle of the pack' types.

No QB would succeed in this formula, having rookies leading us is only compounding the issues.

I still maintain that Jimmy can't be analysed beyond what he is like in the locker room. If he is all you want in a QB off the field, then he will get another shot, be it here or elsewhere.

That seems to be a common thought pattern today...
