Anti-gay marriage supporters can't be anonymous

I think prop-8 had some odd wording and kind of suckered people in.

Anyway, I think it should be 100% public. Gay people should be able to know who doesn't like them, so they don't give those people business, right? And yes, I'm sure people will flock to the businesses that supported it just as much as people that boycott it.

I still don't get this whole thing.

Prop 8 was voted upon in November, but people are still upset about the outcome of that vote.

I didn't vote for Obama, but he was elected as my President. I have accepted that, and support him.

Folks just need to get over this and move on.

Presidency is something that should be voted on by the people. Civil rights are not.

Well said.

when people use the tyranny of the masses as an excuse for bigotry, government should step in.

unless you can give me a good reason why schools should still be segregated

Somehow you misunderstood what was said. There are some things that should be voted on by the people. Civil rights are not. Civil rights should be given BY THE GOVERNMENT. Ex: Women's suffrage, interracial marriage, etc. I don't want people voting on my rights.

throughout history people have shown that they're more than willing to vote away their own rights in a second. no matter what it is. it baffles me. i agree 100% that civil rights are not something to be voted on. they should be inherent.

oh okay I couldn't agree more.

Ballot initiatives are just an awful idea.

    • If nothing else that would mean more kicker jobs as guys like Lloyd would be in demand as a kick off specialist.
    • im generally ok with individual consumers boycotting but tbh im a little annoyed with companies boycotting. these businesses aren't benevolent and boycotting doesn't make their product more pure or their mode of production more ethical. i mean hey big deal ncaa, you moved your games. you're not taking much of a hit there but you get your positive press for your incredibly shitty business. like ok cool you hate the dumb law, i do too. maybe pay your employees before trying to stake out the moral high ground though??? meanwhile the nba moves it's all star game to louisiana where the largely black prison population still picks cotton on "former" slave plantations. hb2 is so mind numbingly stupid that it's easy to oppose without fear of having to sacrifice meaningful profits. im saving praise for companies that oppose oppressive institutions that aren't easy or profitable to oppose.
