Should the Cards ante up? I say no. My Angels signed Guerrero for like six years around the same age...first three or four years he was great, then his body fell apart. Pujols won't play until he's 41 now that steroids aren't allowed.

I hope they sign him and he sets them back a decade financially.

Not sure if that would be a wise investment.
But as a fan of their opposition, I say do it.....

Hell no. It's the length of the contract that's the problem. If he wants that much money, give it to him over 6 years with an option for the 7th.
Or let Chicago break the bank for him and laugh in 5 years when he's demanding a trade so he can go to the AL to be a DH.

As a Reds fan, I say go for it. It will hurt the Reds in the first few years, but it will greatly help us and the rest of the NL Central about 5 yrs down the road.

5yrs/125 mill or CYA.
Cardinals fans can live with Pujols' decision me thinks.

Here I thought this would be a thread about Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens
