Freaky how big and athletic all these guys are.
Kaepernick is every bit the athlete that Newton is. 4.53 40
Locker 40 4.52 both attempts
Gabbert 4.63 and 4.61
All commentary is centering around size and athletesism of these guys.

Mayock again says Gabbart has a higher ceiling than any other QB in this draft.
A note on Kapernick, huge arm, great RPM's on the ball, threw for over 2000 yards and ran for over 1000 yards like 3 years in a row.

Kaepernick is really growing on me. Did it for 3 years in college, passed for over 2000 yards and rushed for 1000 yards for 3 years. A little raw but has all the tools and apparently the work ethic.

Hmm I'm not sure what to think about Cam Newton. I don't know if the FO is seriously considering or trying to pull off a big smokescreen. I know JR is meeting with him apparently.
If Cam is selected we will need to establish a game plan for him, for his talents, and for the fact that he will be a rookie. One positive I see with him is that he should be able to extend plays fairly easily. Which means Steve Smith, and Gettis will have plenty of time to break off routes and stretch the field. Should mean big numbers for Smitty again.
But the big problem with this is that we have seen that type of game before. We have seen the VY, Mike Vick(ATL) offense, which means it will be shut down and figured out eventually. And Cam will not be developed enough to shoulder the team like that.

I'm much more concerned with a QB's ability to lead a team from the pocket, extending plays in nice, but not my top priority. I think we get our OL back on track this year and scrambling won't be that big of an issue.
I don't want Cam, or any QB.

He just said "At number one you have to decide if Jimmy Clausen is our franchise QB. Because if he is not we got to take one at number one."

Cam broad jump 10'3" avg last year was 9'5", last year's best was 9'10"

(Had Gabbert in the title as I thought he was doing the other drills besides throwing, but apparently he's not.)
*Cam just beat the broad jump from 2010 which was 9'10" by an undrafted Tim Hiller. Cam's broad jump was 10'3".

I would be happy as a lark if we drafted Gabbert. Doesn't bother me a bit. I like Cam more, but it is time to draft a QB and get it fixed.
BTW these guys on the NFL network are clueless. (Not Maycock).
They hardly know what QBs are in our division :eek:

They have completely pissed all over Josh Freeman the last two day. Called him the wrong name yesterday. Didn't know his first name. Then today they talk about the great QB's in our division. They said there are two good QB's in our division Ryan and Brees. Poor Josh. Dude is a top 12 QB in the league and just gets dissed

I know some of you guys hate him. But I have never seen a QB that looks like him from a physical standpoint.
