Evolution is not a scientific fact. It's a theory like, say, gravity.

it's not a matter of education. most kids are taught biology. it's a matter of their parents taking pride in ignorance.

Evolution is based on natural selection. (Survival of the fittest. He whom can catch the food quickeror out run the predator, lives and is the one left to propagate the species.") Humans are screwed. They have changed the basic laws of natural selection. One example is the birth control pill. Now only the stupid humans reproduce.

Gravity is known and observable fact. Darwin's theory of evolution of species is both fact and theory. That organisms have mutated and changed over the years is fact. That it happened in the manner prescribed by Darwin is theory.

Well, Evolution is an interesting topic. Some of it is widely agreed on and pretty much fact, and then there's the other half that stirs up everyone and no one agrees on it. I was religious up until a couple years ago when I asked myself "Why?" I realized that I really didn't believe in the stuff, but rather I was just merely copying what most people believed. While obviously Darwin's theory isn't perfect and there are some parts that are kind of iffy, however I still believe in it more than I do religion, it's a lot less farcical to me.
