I started playing my first MMORPG and wow are people really into this shit. For shits and giggles I joined a guild and today we went into a dungeon. We all died twice and this one girl went BALLISTIC. I couldn't believe it. I mean I had heard about this shit before but never encountered it. She was cussing everybody out. Apparently someone was supposed to be DPS'ing and they were tanking. Which must be some sort of mortal sin to these people. BTW I had no idea what those things meant until today.

It was hilarious. This girl had to log off she was so upset. Of course I was LOL'ing at her and that didn't help matters, I'm sure.

Generally I've been soloing it until I joined this guild but I don't think I can take this shit as seriously as these people. Guess I'll have to go solo and group up with randoms again.

I've never played a MMORPG but I've pissed some people off so bad I thought they were gonna have a stroke on XBL. The funniest wasn't even me though, one night I was playing COD and some dude saying he was from Charlotte and he was talking shit to everyone in the damn room except for me (I'm guessing because I have a Panthers gamer pic)

He called out some 10 year old kid and they were exchanging Facebooks so they could meet each other and fight.

Luckily they've cracked down on ninjas. Actually gear isn't as big of a thing as it was when that video came out (like 5 years ago). WoW is like 10 times more casual now luckily.

True.

But instead of ninjas taking loot, you have random asshats talking shit in groups and rolling on loot they can't use. About 20% of the run of the mill WoW player is an intolerable child who is socially inept and gets their kicks out of ruining it for others.

Fortunately, I only run dungeons with a group of friends and our wives. We're having to bring a couple of the ladies up from level 1 from November 2010. We don't have a lot of time on our hands, but we're into the mid/late-70s content now. In about a couple weeks to a month, we'll be in the first stage of Cata dungeons.

Aside from that, we're running Arenas/BGs too... I've got a toon in mostly Vicious Glad gear, and what isn't purple is Bloodthirsty Glad gear. We're starting to get our rank up too.

Moral of the story: The best way to experience MMOs is to run with people you know and trust.

Well, plate can't roll on cloth, cloth on plate, etc. But different specs can roll on others gear, which is annoying.

And don't forget the occasional Bind on Equip items that everyone wants to sell, even if its an upgrade for you.

They are in the process of making BoE's bop, which seems kind of odd, but they've talked about it. But yeah.

lol. I only know what DPS and Tanks are from League of Legends. Even on that, people go apeshit if you're doing something fun. These guys usually take things too seriously and virtually take the fun out of the game.

I worked with a girl one time years ago that was an absolute knockout. I mean this woman was a 10+ easy. We went to lunch a few times and had a couple of casual dinners together after work but it never turned into anything because even though she had a young son, she turned really Christian and was not gonna have sex until she was married again, which was an obvious dealbreaker for me. Anyhow, this chick was so obsessed with Warcraft that she would bring her laptop in and play on our company wireless network. She would literally have her laptop open next to her work monitor, and play that shit all day. It was simultaneously the weirdest, and downright sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life.

Here's a sample behavior study of the 20% of the players I mentioned that makes Internet gaming (especially one as micro-coordinated as WoW can be), hard to handle.

Haha, well, half those videos are fake.

The game is different now though. They made it super casual. Maybe I'm just lucky though, the guys I play with are all adults with fulltime jobs and families, or in college, etc. No one really freaks out like that haha.

I've never played Wow or anything like that, but some people got really pissed off in Halo: Reach when i played that. One guy sent me an awful message about how i wasn't a man and a pussy because i was using amour lock too much?

I played BF2 a few months ago when i was just looking for a game to play around with. I pretty much just tried to stay out of the way out of fear of annoying the hardcore people with my noobishness.

Nerd rage is sad, it's a game. It should be fun even when you lose. Disappointing but not raging.

Here's the thing...if you let me know you're a nerd and will rage over shit like this, I will seriously fuck your game up. Got invited to another dungeon instance today and this nerd got super pissed at this other guy who apparently wasn't healing fast enough. We all died and this person (not the same one as the other day btw) was rolling on the insults. So what I did was when we went in again, I immediately attacked a mob and ran over to him. We both died super quick. I wasn't even fighting though, I was just hopping around this dude's character like a madman. LOL. Good times.

The "Random Dungeon Finder" should be renamed the "Random Asshat Finder".

Since our little group is still leveling up our alternate characters, me and one of the other people who have max-level characters tried our hand at random groups. I think I ran 10 or so dungeons, and out of those, 3 of them ended in pissing bitch fests by angry nerds.

After the last one, I told my buddy "Dude, you can cancel random queues from here out. We will just need to get our little group leveled up." My enjoyment of the game immediately improved.

Besides, there is SO much you can do besides dungeons in WoW at max level. Trade Skills, Gold making, Secondary skills, the Argent Tournament (which yields some pretty awesome rewards even in the new expansion), and of course, PVP.

(BTW... is it WoW you're playing stan? I think we've been assuming this, but I don't think you've specified. )
