No doubt Holmes is the most proven and talented as of now, but its interesting to see these other options because this WR UFA pool is pretty darn good compared to the past few years.

Gettis & LaFell probably aren't going to play much in the slot and the Pilares/Armanti situation is hard to predict, so maybe a smaller receiver is smarter. He's not even that short at 5-11 and is only 27. He makes a lot of damn sense. If we don't fork out the money though, its quite an evenly talented crop.

I personally voted for Breaston. If he didn't admit to the knee problem from 2009, he would no doubt be up there with Holmes imo. If he really produced that consistently with that knee issue (now resolved), he becomes incredibly enticing. Especially because the Cardinals aren't really listing him as priority and neither side seems very anxious. Could be a steal

And Lance Moore would be a good talent to ****** away from the Saints. He came back from his 09 injury very strong last season w/ 66rec-763yds-8tds

Can't believe Sidney Rice is leading this poll.

He had one good year...when Favre had a monster year.

Outside of that he has underperformed in his career.

There is no other WR out there even close to Holmes.

Rice, when given good Qb play has shown the ability to play as high as a level as Holmes. In fact, Rice best season is better than Holmes best. Yes he had the benefit of playing with Farve but so has Holmes with Big Ben and for a longer time.
Switch their team and Id believe we'd see Rice enjoy success and Holmes struggle.

As far current career comparison, Holmes is ahead no question. But for future success picking Rice isnt crazy at all. At their best there on the same level.

"when given good qb play has shown the ability"

only 1 year is going to be a huge knock against that argument. the team would have to HOPE he could have a similar year again.

it's definitely possible.

ain't no one as clutch as Holmes though.. I'd take him 10 out of 10 times over anyone.

Holmes.. not even close people.

Rice and Holmes are both very talented. It depends what you want; speed and great route running but not always sure hands, then Holmes. Size, jumping, tough catches and blocking, you go with Rice. I live in NYC, so I have seen all the Jets games this past season, and I've seen Holmes drop some gimmies. He usually makes up for them though later in the game.

Holmes and Rice, then not even close.

There is few to go on. But I don't think it would be that big of stretch/ risk at all to sign him.
