I suggest you read the 8-10 practice thread for my suggestions on how to handle new people.

Too many times this happens. Make them earn it, it will clean up this board a lot and deter a lot of the player fans from signing up just to post 1 or 2 things then get in arguments left and right.

Incase you don't want to go there, it says that we should maybe have a mod have to approve all new members posts up to about post 25 or 30 or so like a probationary period. If it's within the rules, the mod signs off and it gets posted, if it's not, it is never shown and we never know who that person is.

It also benefits the people who do get through because they have more credibility among the established members now.

Regardless of who's on there, if the mods were as strict as you'd like them to be they'd tell you to get rid of that oversized sig because it takes up the whole page.

Or maybe if your boss entrusted you with some serious work you wouldn't goof off so much at your job all day and argue with 17 y/o new panther (auburn) fans and you wouldn't have time to think about what you think the mods should be doing in the first place.
