I already mentioned that in plenty of other threads, but I'm not a Dlo hater or Stew basher, am I?

Emotions get in the way of facts and logic.

It's sad really.

Yes it is. Your emotions have put logic on the back burner, and you may never recover from it. Very sad really.

First of all he played against a zone defense most of the day not only in the second half. Capers uses mixed coverages and will sometimes use man by the corners and the nickel back but by and large uses a zone when they blitz and most of the time. So to say he had a field day when they send 6 or 7 and struggled when they rushed 4 or 5 is inaccurate at best.

In the second half Green Bay did rush fewer folks and primarily doubled Smith. 2 of the three interceptions where when Newton tried to throw it to Smith in double coverage once and the other in man coverage with Woodson where Newton threw it way short off his back foot. The third interception was a poorly thrown ball which sailed over the receivers head (was it Nannee?) and was caught primarily because the defender was 10 yards behind the play which put him in line to intercept the ball.

I was one of the advocates of rushing 4 and putting 7 in coverage to stop Newton but after watching the game wouldn't say that made that much of a difference. The play by Woodson on the Smith pass he returned to the 20, was just a great play on his part. Plus a poor throw by Newton off his back foot. The errant overthrow was simply a poor pass and the throw to Smith that was picked off in the left flat was simply throwing into double coverge and getting burned for it.

I think the zone coverage worked against him because with more defenders around the ball, a poor throw was more likely to be picked off but It didn't look like he was particularly fooled or confused. He did use more checkoffs and short passes on the last few drives but that was another learning opportunity for Cam not so much that he had no other choices forced by the defenses.

You're delusional if you think he created this thread for discussion.
