Rangers are reportedly going to throw absurd money at CC this offseason. CC will definitely opt out after seeing an older Cliff Lee get 5 years. I just assumed he would resign with the Yankees the day after.
It could get very interesting because the Rangers can spend just as much as the Yankees can. At the very least the Rangers are going to force NY to spend more.
How funny and amazing would it be if CC went to the Rangers and the Yankees were left with no ace lol.
Do you see CC leaving NY?

If i were him i'd go for the money no doubt. As a Yankees fan i'm not worried. Missed out on Lee last year but there are other fish in the sea.

CC is the only guy on the team who is a proven ace. It'd be full meltdown mode if they lost him.

You don't think the New York freaking Yankees would make a move? I don't have a list of free agent pitchers in front of me but i don't believe the Yanks will be caught with their pants down.

The only guy comparable to CC is CJ Wilson and we've all seen how bad he's been this postseason. Likely he stays with Texas because his value has plummeted after this month.
For what it's worth, letting CC walk is probably a better move for the Yankees in the long term. Fatbathia will probably decline sooner rather than later and giving him 6 or 7 years would be fuging stupid. If they sign him they're digging themselves a deep hole.
