In 1957 a Russian satellite went across the US every 90 minutes. I'm kind of glad we didn't decide to start a nuclear war in response.

Wonder what the reaction would've been if the rocket had been filled with candy.

Candy...VX...who cares...I'm not suggesting anyone get nuked over it...just wondering what Obama's official response would be to a rocket going over Hawaii. I'm sure if Russia had the ion cannon invented in 1957 the reaction would've been different...maybe not nukes though.

If it's in space, there is no reaction. It's perfectly legal. If the missile is on a ballistic trajectory and heading right for you, thats a different matter.

/ Do people really want to go to war over a failed missile test?

Who said anyone wanted to go to war?

The point here is that Barackary O'Clinton said "don't you dare" to N. Korea leading up to this, and they did it anyway, and the UN is sitting on its hands.

Thank God Barack is made of steel.

I'm not worried...I'm on the east coast. So what do I care right? This is nothing...none of us should care. Isn't that obvious?

I'm just not sure what reaction you'd be happy with.

To shoot down whatever we like, with no consequences because we are America and always right. Once we destroy his missiles, I am sure Kimmie will be reasonable then.

If not, we can only hope that the Reagan Cloning project succeeds, or we are all doomed.

Would you allow Syria to fly a rocket like that over Israel?

yea, the problem is that we don't really know if our poo works. How embarrassing would it be to try to shoot it down, fail and then watch the missile crash into the ocean on its own anyway. "Wow, you guys spent trillions of dollars on anti-missile defense that couldn't even bring down a faulty med. range ICBM built with bad 30 year old tech." Yea, that'd be a way to keep all those rogue nations in line.

Would you allow China to fly a rocket like that over Taiwan?

It may happen often. In order to reach orbit with the least amount of fuel, rockets launch in an easterly direction. Taiwan is a small country and fairly far away from the Chinese launch facilities, but the rockets generally have to go in that direction.

Japan completely covers the easterly launch direction of anything coming from North Korea. Unless NK wants a polar orbit, anything they put into space is going to fly over Japan.

We pretty much would have to, wouldn't we?

But here's the rub with N. Korea...that sound you hear is Japan rebuilding its military.
