Hold hostage the most expensive piece. Check

Have communications with the media. Check

Be prepared to deal with the US Navy and Navy Seals. Ummmm

Ending a high tension hostage with no bloodshed IS SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE!!1!!

Do we want people to think that while we are willing to stand our ground, we are open to peaceful solutions?

We place different value on the lives of people who do such things as kidnapping, theft, murder.
