They get rid of sir purr and they can kiss my $$ goodbye!! I've had sir purr at my birthday party since i was 15, that was 17 years ago. I will not pay to have some meathead panther making blow up balloon animals at my 33rd next year, I won't!!!

No, this is not a uniform thread, and I haven't seen this discussed much (and none as of late, unless I missed it)

Ignore the quality of the article, but it did get me thinking a bit. Since we changed the logo some, should we change the mascot as well to reflect the more aggressive nature?

Or is it one of those things that nobody give a rat's ass about?

How about a REAL panther? We could be like the University of Colorado with Ralphie the buffalo, except with a panther.

mascots are designed to appeal to little kids and as such i doubt sir purr is going to be screwed around with

of course there are people who don't understand this and think he should drive a tank that sprays jim beam from a fire hose and launches fleshlights into the stands during pregame but what can you do.

I would have loved that as a kid!

I remember when I was about 10 and sent the Panthers organization a letter in the mail asking for autographs and memorabilia...

I received an 8x11 autographed picture of Sir Purr himself, talk about a let down even as a 10 year old.

Same here, even as a kid I was disappointed with Sir Purr. I always wanted a mascot that struck fear in anyone looking at it, kinda like a visual brown note.
