By any means necessary! Even ignoring rights and freedoms we choose to defend!

America....fug yeah!

Dang, Panthro. What's with all the exclamation points this morning?

It's not like I'm Rambo and playing the anything goes card here. I just think that the defense of America and our way of life is extremely important and serious. Certain tactics used to ascertain information are going to offend everyday people who drive to work and eat lunch at Panera Bread five days a week. They don't feel threatened, why would they? I get that. It makes it easy to grand stand against war and the realities of war. However, some of these tactics are required. There is a harsh reality out there that threatens us everyday. We will probably get an upclose look at what is out there with this new administration.

Had I done what any of these guys did to any other country, I would thank god that they at least kept me alive...water boarding or no.

It is foolish to think that this is a big issue. This is being thrust into our lives to cover up the insane amount of money that the government is spending to dig a little more into our lives.

Being perfectly honest here- I understand that sometimes desperate times call for desperate measure. As such, I think such methods should be used only as a last resort, clock's ticking, call in Jack Bauer desperate measure... to hear that someone was waterboarded 180+ times?? That sounds like lazy interrogators to me... what happened to the days of intraveneous chemicals and hours of hammering away on the person's psyche to help persuade baddies?

i asked this earlier, so how many folks did we torture prior to 9/11?
Our status in the world and looking good to the international community didn't seem to do us much good.

correlation? causation? I don't know what your point is. That not torturing caused 9/11? Clinton practiced rendition as much as anyone, specifically targeting al-queda. Maybe we shoulda tortured more!

U.S. Soldier Killed Herself - After refusing to Take Part in Torture

Appalled when ordered to take part in interrogations that, no doubt, involved what we would call torture, she refused, then killed herself a few days later, in September 2003.

"Peterson objected to the interrogation techniques used on prisoners. She refused to participate after only two nights working in the unit known as the cage. Army spokespersons for her unit have refused to describe the interrogation techniques Alyssa objected to. They say all records of those techniques have now been destroyed."
