MKG is nothing more than a defense specialist...no thank you

Wish pie could be given twice.

Well done CC. Best piece I've seen you do in a while. I'm on board, this guy is amazing. That Kentucky team was something special.

Can't shoot, especially not in a real game. For a team that can't buy a basket, no thank you. If they did a lot of dealing in the offseason where they ended up with someone like Wesley Matthews starting at SG instead of Henderson, then MKG would make SOME sense. With that line up listed above, he doesn't. Everyone currently on the roster except for Biyombo should be expendable. If they can package Kemba or Henderson for something or another 1st round pick, I'd be all for that too. Kemba is leaving Charlotte for the Big Apple as soon as he gets a chance to anyway.

That Kentucky team wasn't any more special than Calipari's last Memphis & UMass teams, as time will reveal.

True. I'm down to MKG or Beal at no.2 if we keep that pick.

But since we still have Henderson at SG, I'd at least see him perform for another year and take MKG at SF.

Though, any position is an upgrade for us.

The fact that Henderson starts simply proves how much the rest of the lineup sucked. It doesn't mean he needs to be a part of your long-term plans.

I agree that MKG isnt a great fit for this bobcats team (given it's painful lack of shooting), but he would give this team a player to build around and he is a lot more than a defensive specialist. By all accounts he has a great work ethic, and he brings a level of intensity and effort that was completely missing from the Bobcats last year. He is a great rebounder for a SF, and is very effective at getting into the paint and finishing, especially in transition.

His offensive game isnt particularly developed, but he is quick off the dribble so I think he has a lot of room to develop (as opposed to a guy like Barnes, who will never have a quick enough first step to take NBA defenders off the dribble). If we drafted MKG we definitely need to target a shooter in free agency or through a trade though- he wont be effective on offense if our court spacing is as awful as it was last year

Yes to MKG and no to Kamen, he is too old.

I say break the bank for Roy Hibbert and make him an offer that he can't turn down

PG- Kemba Walker

SG- Gerald Henderson

SF- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

PF- Bismack Biyombo

C- Roy Hibbert

outside Kemba that is one hell of a defensive team. I like it.

Yes i agree.

I'm one of the few, probably the only one who think that Henderson is not a player for the future. Dude is athletic but terrible most of the time IMO. Hes not someone who can go out there and win a game for us. He will never be able to. As a lottery pick, he should have shown more than what he has. Hendo is at best someone who comes off the bench only.

With that said, no one said he was going to be a long term plan. But for now he is. It's not that easy trading Henderson as people think. So it is what it is. Stick with who you have and don't complain.

Who's going to score in that squad though? Kemba?

If we hire Jerry Sloan, I think he will make Kemba a top 10 point guard in the league for years to come.

I say this because Sloan has coached arguably four of the top 50 point guards in NBA history in Reggie Theus, John Stockton, Mark Jackson, and Deron Williams.

Never going to happen for Kemba. Not that it matters for the Bobcats, anyway. Like I said. As soon as he gets a chance, Kemba is gone. He'll do all he can to end back up in NY.

How'd you know NY going to want him?

The point is Kemba isn't staying in Charlotte. He's too "bright lights" to do so. Doesn't matter whether NY wants him or not. He's going to try to go to a team in that region, and almost certainly end up on one of them when he does. I don't know whether he'll be considered a "bust" or a beast by then. Either way, he won't be in Charlotte when he gets a chance to bounce.

I think that will depend quite a bit on the state of the Bobcats at that point in time.
