While you can't toss out that totally, Mike says publicly that there were 3 reasons he came here. The first one is that he likes our scheme better than San Diego. Second it reunites him with Chud and Rivera who he greatly likes and respects. But he also told the Washington Post that a big reason for wanting to come here was that he felt the South was a better place to raise a family. He said that he used to live here and wanted his daughter to be raised in this type of environment. So much so that he was willing to take a pay cut to come here. For more here is the story:

All the Yankees that keep flocking here (yet at the same time they have no problem ripping on the south, our local teams, and our traditions like sweet tea and boiled peanuts) prove the south is where it's at. It always bugs the hell out of me when I hear neighbors, who have moved here by free will, rip the area and southerners. GTFO and quit putting a strain on our local resources, nobody invited you.

I have made a rule to never believe anyone who says they don't like sweet tea. It has served me well.
Or Krispy Kreme Hot to Go Glazed Donuts.

If I could afford California, I'd be there
Julius Peppers and Kris Jenkins
I understand Jenkins is moving back to Charlotte to be close to his kids.

then get a gun rack, hang a battle flag of northern Virginia, try develop a smooth drawl and act all local. A Yankee will be local when they're buried in the cemetery, until that time they are interloping carpet baggers.
