Tolbert came here partly because he likes the South better than California

There were a lot of people wondering why Mike Tolbert came to the Panthers when we already had Williams and Stewart. Much of the speculation surrounding Stewart being traded focused on the fact that there wasn't enough room for all three of these backs and that perhaps Tolbert knew that Stewart was on his way out which is why he signed.

While you can't toss out that totally, Mike says publicly that there were 3 reasons he came here. The first one is that he likes our scheme better than San Diego. Second it reunites him with Chud and Rivera who he greatly likes and respects. But he also told the Washington Post that a big reason for wanting to come here was that he felt the South was a better place to raise a family. He said that he used to live here and wanted his daughter to be raised in this type of environment. So much so that he was willing to take a pay cut to come here. For more here is the story:

Who doesn't love the South better?

All the Yankees that keep flocking here (yet at the same time they have no problem ripping on the south, our local teams, and our traditions like sweet tea and boiled peanuts) prove the south is where it's at. It always bugs the hell out of me when I hear neighbors, who have moved here by free will, rip the area and southerners. GTFO and quit putting a strain on our local resources, nobody invited you.

I have made a rule to never believe anyone who says they don't like sweet tea. It has served me well.

I understand Jenkins is moving back to Charlotte to be close to his kids.

All the Yankees that keep flocking here

then get a gun rack, hang a battle flag of northern Virginia, try develop a smooth drawl and act all local. A Yankee will be local when they're buried in the cemetery, until that time they are interloping carpet baggers.
