2012 NHL Draft Thread (All Hurricanes Picks)

Look alive hockey fans, the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft takes place at 7 p.m. tonight on the NBC Sports Network.

The Hurricanes hold the 8th overall pick in the draft tonight and they are said to be interested in taking 17 year old left wing: Teuvo Teravainen, 18 year old center: Radek Faksa, or 18 year old center: Mikhail Grigorenko.

There are also rumors that the Canes may trade the pick along with some players to acquire Jordan Staal from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

So here's to acquiring one of these four players tonight.

Pick 8: Hurricanes trade the 8th overall pick, Brandon Sutter, and Brian Dumoulin for center: Jordan Staal

Pick 38: Hurricanes select left wing: Phillip Di Giuseppe

Pick 47: Hurricanes select left wing: Brock McGinn

Pick 69: Hurricanes select goalie: Daniel Altshuller

Pick 99: Hurricanes select left wing/center: Erik Karlsson

Pick 115: Hurricanes select defenseman: Trevor Carrick

Pick 120: Hurricanes select defenseman: Jaccob Slavin

Pick 129: Hurricanes select left wing: Brendan Woods

Pick 159: Hurricanes select goalie: Collin Olson

Pick 189: Hurricanes select left wing: Brendan Collier

I've read the Canes are really hoping that somehow Forsberg falls to them.

I give it a 15%-20% chance that, that happens.

2012 45th overall pick

2012 117th overall pick

2013 fourth round pick

Forsberg could fall....someone always does...2 years ago very highly rated cam fowler plummeted for no reason.....

Had had a few more trades.

Washington just got a little better acquiring a 60 point player in Mike Ribeiro and as many thought, Visnovsky was traded to the Ducks tonight.

2 picks between us and either Forsberg or teuvo!!!!!

All we need is one d to be taken in there somewhere....

The closer we get to picking the more I wanna keep the pick. Get Jordan next year UFA.

Hell if teuvo and Forsberg are gone that means dumba fell in our lap. I don't want more d but holy hell you can't pass on picking him...
