lol we're so fuged when Cam's contract is up if we re-sign stew. We have to move on, Hurney/JR made the dumb mistake by giving dwill that contract so they'll have to reap the consequences.

Let Stew walk, we'll get a third round compensation.

Don't be silly. First of all cam is not going anywhere, and if he did it would not be because of signing stewart lol.

The cap can be so easily manipulated and moves can be made. Look at all the eagles spent last year in free agency, and guess who currently has the most cap space of all the teams in the league.

Per Pro Football Talk, only 12 teams have more cap space than the Panthers. According to this report, we have close to $9 million available.

This is just a reminder to those that worry about these things. Don't waste your time fretting over perceived problems with the cap in the offseason. It's gonna be alright.

Also only top 51 are counting right now. After the season starts it's everyone, and that could be as many as 70 or more players depending on how many are brought in to replace injured, etc. Practice squad will count then too.

I think we did pretty damn well for ourselves in free agency, and to have 9 mil left over on top of that is outstanding. Once again hurney out-maneuvers fourth-tier huddle posters signing up to complain that toddler could do better at GM.

deangelo williams and jordan gross will likely not be on the team by the time cam re-signs his contract. we'll be fine.

Yes, we will have to include more players in the calculation once the season starts. Just like every other team.

But the fact remains that compared to the league average we are in pretty good shape, and we already have a solid core locked up long term.

Yes, we have an outstanding issue with J Stew, but every team has these kinds of issues to confront.

The point is, there is no reason for the gloom and doom regarding the cap that seems to dominate the board from time to time.

FA running back's are not getting much money nowadays, since this is pretty much a passing era.

DeAngelo got big cash. Carolina paid him what his value was as a RB in a vacuum

You've got to kidding. You must already know what the cap space will be at for that season...are you NJPs "source"?

If that was sarcasm? Very funny. Sounds just like the gloom and doomers.

JStew is on the last year of his contract, so we are in no big hurry to get him done. And when we do sign him, he will not take up the rest of the cap just by himself. We can sign JStew, and still have money.

As for Cam, we are two years from worrying about his contract. Just relax and enjoy the show.

Carolina has a reputation of taking care of their own. They are not going to change their culture. No need to put undo stress on yourself worrying about losing Stewy. If he wants to be here, he will be here. It is probably all in his hands.

The Panther Organization does not let one of their own get away.

Ok, that's it for now. And GOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rarely do teams with highly valued QBs do teams like for them to reach the end of there current deals. They try to extend them early on.

We don't need to be paying Stewart DeAngelo money
