I know people for some reason are high on Barnidge, but let's face it, he has been in the league for 4 seasons with little to no production to account for. There are many players with less experience that us huddlers have written off. I'm not saying get rid of Barny, but I'd feel better with a more experienced and productive player at the #2 TE spot, considering its importance in this offense.
Yes Tolbert was brought in, but he isn't a 6'4 big body receiver either. He is getting up there in age, but since it doesn't look like Shock is coming back, he looks like a viable option.

If they haven't signed Shockey, what makes you think that Schiacoe will be a better option?
viable doesn't mean better, or does it? still trying to make sense of that question

that was pretty much an ideal situation for any TE, right?
and then last year was IRed so he had every chance to show he could make it as a solid TE.

Better view. The guy can turn on the jets and I remember seeing him in action before, the guy is hard to take down. Crap blocker but great hands.

I'm actually trying to make sense of your answer/question for my question. It's a simple question that I asked you. If they have not signed Shockey, why would they sign Shiancoe? They are similar, both vets. Shockey would be signed way before Shiancoe simply because he's played with our unit before and knows the system. I don't understand why you would even consider Shiancoe an option.

From what i understand, Shockey may not want to play period, or maybe not for what we can/or have offered him. I never said Shiancoe was a better option, you are putting words in my post.
