WTF is wrong with our FO can we do 1 F'n deal? Why is every other team trying to do something while we thumb wrestle over Jaminson?

It doesn't matter what he wants though, it matters what the Hornets want.

Just because the Hornets choose to match Phoenix, doesn't mean he has to re-sign with New Orleans.

Because they're going by the book, as Draft night proved. You took the 2nd hypest rated player on almost everyone's boards, and nothing else. Hooray! How creative...not.

Let's be real, who in their right mind would want to come play for the worst team in the league, forget the fact that it's a small market team? You would literally have to overpay people to come here. Even people off the street wouldn't want to play for Jordan. Those are just the sad facts.

The only way we will become relevant, is by drafting superstar players.

I would play for MJ for league minimum. Just sayin!

Hickson would have a reason to. He's young and has plenty of time to turn into an old scrub chasing a title with a contender. He can play for a sorry ass team like us and put up big numbers in the meantime while being a starter and help us rebuild.

But alas, we'll probably just sit out the FA period and end up signing some scrub ass D-Leaguers to MAtt Carroll-style contracts to reach the cap floor.

This is frustrating.

But it does mean he is under contract with the Hornets for the next 4 years

Which is why the NBA sucks. You're going to force someone to play somewhere even after their original contract is up? That's much more of a reason to hate the league than tatoos or hip-hop.

I agree, they should do away with restricted free agency because it limits a players potential. I know it's in place to "allow the smaller market teams to compete," but with teams facilitating trades to move big players to big markets; there is no need to keep the option of restricted free agency.

If Gordon really wanted to leave, he could have signed their 1 year qualifying offer and been an unrestricted free agent next year.

Its not like the NBA is as restrictive as the NFL, where they can just slap a franchise tag on you and force you to play for them. Plus the NBA's restricted FAs get paid better than the NFL because other teams dont have to worry about surrendering picks to sign another team's player
