Should Penn State Get The Death Penalty?

There was vitually nobody left on the USC coaching staff or the entire team roster by the time the NCAA laid down to law on USC. It was so long after Reggie left USC that it had no impact on the players because none of them were there. So, with a roster full of players who never played with Reggie, USC simply kept winning, NCAA sanctions or not.

Thanks for proving my point?

I'm expecting a 3 year bowl ban, 40 scholarships lost and a hefty fine involved.

Basically a death sentence, but not really one.

HOLY CRAP!!!!

That was basically a death penalty

60m fine, 4 year bowl ban, 40 scholarships over 4 years and 5 years of probation. Wins vacated from 98 - 2011.

Pretty much wipes Joe from the NCAA record books

They also have to vacate all wins from 98 to 2011.

Joe Pa is now down to only having 295 wins.

Wow! That was harsh.

The worst part of the penalty is having to reduce total scholarship athletes on the roster by 20. USC is making things work with only 75, but depth is a huge concern at several positions this year. PSU only having 65 on the roster for four years is going to CRIPPLE that program. They don't have the allure of a USC, Alabama, LSU, Florida etc. PSU is DONE for a LONG, LONG time....

No it wasn't. Penn St. is done for a while. 40 schollys over 4 years with a max of 65 on the team and a 4 year bowl ban will cripple that team for at least the next 10 years.

They should just leave the big 10 and join a FCS conference for the next 4 years.
