You cannot tell me that Steve Smith wouldn't be absolutely crushing people even more so than Fitz if he had Kurt Warner throwing him the ball instead of Jake Delhomme.

Definitely the flavor of the day, but does that actually make him #1, just because he burned us in a playoff game? Not positive on that one, the line is very small...

We would have our choice of ten teams multiple first rounders by now.

It really illustrates what the rest of the league thinks of Julius Peppers. He and his agent have gotten an education these last months. Jared had no trouble finding a suitor in the Vikings, even with his off the field issues. Pep, by all indications is a "model citizen". Must be his play on the field.......

I wouldn't automatically assume we'd be swimming in 1st rounders. Boldin is a hell of a receiver as well (not as good as 89 but still) and he didn't garner much interest. Maybe that had to do with the huge contract he's looking for, but it's not like Smith would come cheap either. Not to mention he's 29 years old as has 2 incidents (one very recent) of fighting with teammates. As it stands now, I think Smitty is the 2nd best receiver behind Fitz but there's still issues that make it less than certain a team would fork over a huge amount of draft picks.

I'd put Fitz #1, Smith #2 for now and Andre #3...but Calvin has the potential to surapass all IMHO

I agree with this assessment....C Johnson has the tools to pass all of them

I can't see a team giving up 2 1st rounders for a WR in trade, but you never know.

So I'm assuming you know that positively no offers have been made?

You ate the worm again didnt you...

I can 10000% guarantee you that no offers have been made to the Panthers, simply based on one fact: Peppers has not signed his tender offer and thus the Panthers cannot engage in trade talks with any other team.

Well, technically they can, they just have to do it behind closed doors. This may be why no offers have been announced publicly. Doesn't mean there aren't any. Doesn't mean there are. We don't really know.

Steve Smith is definatly a top 5 receiver in the league...but I wouldn't see "multiple" first rounder heading the Panthers way. IMO Fitz, Andre, Calvin would easily garner more picks...due to age and charecter issues even though I don't see Steve having anymore issues.

Also he also has always played in a Pass first Offense. In 2005 we had a Pass first offence and Smith had the triple crown. Just saying.........

That and no other team thinks he's worth the contract that he wants. Just my take on the situation

Smitty's great. Definitely top 5. But there is no doubt Fitzgerald is the best WR in the game today...

Well let's put it this way, I would take Fitz with the ball in the air and Smitty with the ball in his hands.

Scratch that I just want a good quarterback to throw to him, if he ever wants that 2000 yard season he knows that too.

No. Andre Johnson is not better than Smith, just no. He is great, but if I may use a weak metaphor, Smith is like a horror movie k? Someone is always going to die (ie; Smith is going to help us win every game) Andre is more of a mid afternoon b-list drama show, someone dies every now and then but a lot of little stuff happens (ie; He will make a big play every other game or so, but he has a lot of useless games where he just snags a couple dink and dunks and hangs it up)

Wait
what?
