I'm not understanding. So you need to have seven top rated players for five years to be a contender? I don't understand the math they are using to get thirty highly graded players.

Maybe over that time span several guys get hurt/miss time/sign elsewhere.....

Find around 7 a year for 5 years and you're almost guaranteed your thirty great roster players

This isn't true.

Majority of NFL GM's would kill to have our QB.

I'd also list Smitty, Stewart, Olsen, Kalil (if he comes back healthy), Gross, LaFell (if we find another WR to be the 2), Charles Johnson, Beason (by years end he'll deserve to be in this group), Gamble, Kuechly, Nortman, Davis

The problem is many of these guys are aging... they don't have five more years.

It really isn't that bad. We're putting the pieces together. An entire rebuilding project. Remember when Detroit cleaned house, brought in a new quarterback, new coaches, etc? It took them a while and they are starting to turn it around. It takes time.

Teams I can think of off the top of my head with less talent:
Washington
Arizona
Seattle
St. Louis
Jets
Miami
Cincinnati
Cleveland
Indy
Tennessee
Jville
Oakland
Kansas City

That's 13 teams, putting us middle of the pack according to my highly sophisticated and rigorous analysis.

7*5=35

I guess you hope for 7, but likely get 5. Split the difference at 6 and give it 5 years = 30.
