I'm not understanding. So you need to have seven top rated players for five years to be a contender? I don't understand the math they are using to get thirty highly graded players.
Maybe over that time span several guys get hurt/miss time/sign elsewhere.....
Find around 7 a year for 5 years and you're almost guaranteed your thirty great roster players

This isn't true.
Majority of NFL GM's would kill to have our QB.
I'd also list Smitty, Stewart, Olsen, Kalil (if he comes back healthy), Gross, LaFell (if we find another WR to be the 2), Charles Johnson, Beason (by years end he'll deserve to be in this group), Gamble, Kuechly, Nortman, Davis
The problem is many of these guys are aging... they don't have five more years.

Teams I can think of off the top of my head with less talent:
That's 13 teams, putting us middle of the pack according to my highly sophisticated and rigorous analysis.

I guess you hope for 7, but likely get 5. Split the difference at 6 and give it 5 years = 30.
