Johnny Rockets 3,506 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 Slow moving system hope whoever is up there has 3 days worth of food. Clean up will be a mess with the storm surge. Won't be surprised if airports in long island are shutdown til Thursday. My parents have been in Europe for the last month in a half and just barely made it back to the US this weekend before Philly airport was shut down. Sucks to come back from vacation only to prepare for one of the worst storms in that areas history in only a couple hours. They live in South Jersey about 30 miles inland and are supposed to get blasted by this. My brother lives along the banks of the Delaware river and has been sandbagging all weekend to keep the river from taking his home. Pretty sure they need an awful lot of water in order for that river to overflow it's banks but this should be a good test.
sunbunny 73 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 My husband just called to tell me he's headed north tomorrow. The rig is leaving this morning with a crew to get everything set up for tonight and tomorrow, and then he'll take over in the afternoon. I'm not sure when he'll be back. Doubt there is anyway out...anyone who ignored the warnings is on their own I am sure. For those people that live through it, I bet they never decide to stay again.
