"I don't want to discredit (theBears). But this is the NFL," McDermott said. "If you can hold a team to 210 yards, you win the dang game. Bottom line. I'm not sure what adjustments they made. If they did, I didn't see them.

This is code for "Don't Fire Me. It was all Ron Rivera's Fault."

What Ron Rivera said was even more mind boggling.

"For what they were doing, the defense we were in gave us the best opportunity for what they could potentially do," Rivera said. "Would we like to tighten the coverage up? yes. We'd like to see the corners come up a little bit more, see the safeties come down a little closer."

So Ron Rivera is putting the horrible playcalling on the players again? Why not adjust? Why not instruct McDumnutz to call plays with tighter coverages? Man I can't stand this crap that we call HC and DC..

they made a change to quick routes vs our soft corner play. Thus no more sacks Heck almost anyone could see that. Can I be DC? plz I'll do it for a quarter of what he's being paid on a trial basis Jerry you listening!?!

He didn't see it?!?! You'd think after the 2nd or 3rd quick slant to Marshall, he'd see that they were attacking us underneath and go back to some press man coverage.

LOL, lord help us... so he didn't notice that we stopped getting sacks in the 2nd half?

To be fair, as is being talked about in the other thread, Dwan was hurt.

Coaches acknowledging they know what should have happened even though they didn't do anything.

Pretty much how its been through this whole regime. They always know exactly what to do after the fact. After the lead is given up, after a mind boggling opposing team's scoring drive, after the loss, after the season, after the fact.

Double post. While this quote is pretty dumb, I'm sure not sure what I think of McDermott. Defense has been better this year despite some questionable playcalling. Our OC had been fudging up more than our DC, in my opinion. Still if our new GM does end up installing a new coaching regime, I wouldn't be sad to see Sean go.

They gave up the underneath plays to prevent the big play. But the fact of the matter is, they should've played the opposite. The bears didn't need a TD. They should've expected that the Bears would take small chunks all the way down the field, to set up the FG.
