Does this sloppy win help Rivera's chances?

I really think he's gone no matter what. It sucks because I think he's a pretty decent coach with an eye for talent, but I'm pretty sure that the new GM will want their own guy.

Doesn't help but I don't think it hurts either.

Chud has to stop going full retard in the second half of games.

Reminder the raiders have played other teams tough all year.

I never expected a blowout but I didn't expect a game this sloppy.

even the best teams are going to have shitty, sludgy games against awful teams that shouldn't be a problem. pulling a win out in a fugly, error-ridden, poorly officiated game like this one was important for us.

I have a feeling he'll be back.

I'm not so sure.

Today for the first time I heard an offensive player say they love playing for him and hope he stays (Greg Olsen, specifically). I'd say the chances of him sticking are getting better.

yeah they shut out a team last week which is hard to do no matter who you're playing in the NFL. their record tends to make people overlook them but their defense is nothing to take lightly and they've hung in there despite having been eliminated from playoff contention for what feels like forever and having dealt with a ton of injuries.

I think it helps.

Every team plays sloppy from time to time just look at the pats v/s jags this week.

Playing sloppy and still winning is all that matters

I dunno about helping his chances, and I'd still prefer to bring in another coach with a higher ceiling, but Rivera deserves credit for a good call giving Gano a chance to seal the game for us.

Holiday game for a team that is just playing for is coach going against a seemingly cupcake team. It's hard to get every player on that field ready to play for that. The OLine certainly looked like it was already home for the holidays..

Honestly though this team has a lack of *real* talent in a lot of areas.

OL, #2 WR, DB, DT

Rivera's coaching has been abysmal at some points, but it's hard to see any one doing really well with this team. We're also really young and we're starting to put it together.

A new, proven talent evaluator (if we get Ross, that is), and a young team starting to come together bodes well for next year. I'm indifferent about Rivera, he hasn't proven a lot, but the team loves him, and I dunno if a complete system change will help but whatever.

Chud needs to gtfo tho.

i'm more or less good with baby steps at this point

every little thing that helps build confidence is a step in the right direction.
