Depending on Hopkins 40 time, I might, just might would want the Panthers to take him in a trade down scenario.
if he runs a 4.4 or below fug it, take him @ 14.

When was the last time Clemson put out a quality player? Brian Dawkins?
Austin, our starting LG is from Clemson. Or I could just throw out CJ Spiller who is quickly becoming a top NFL running back and was drafted top 10.
I'm way on board for Nuke. He runs a 4.4-4.56 depending on what you read but he's as NFL ready as any college receiver can be. Great hands, big body with speed and has a great ability for just knowing how to get open.

I just don't see us doing something beneficial like this unfortunately.

Our starting LG is Silatolu.
At 14 Hopkins looks like a good value. Damn his combine speed, I saw what he could do against a damn good secondary. Take him at 14 and look at someone like DT Short in the 2nd.

The only problem I have is that I don't know if he can be a number one in the NFL and at the 14th pick, you are drafting for a number one guy. Two characteristics that top flight receivers have in the NFL are that they are fast (4.4 forty time, apparently Hopkins runs a 4.5 or 4.6) or they are tall (6-3 or above, Hopkins is 6-1) or both. Hopkins would definitely have to improve his forty time to be considered a top 15 pick, which I think he might do. Regardless I think with all the needs on this Panthers team; trading down and taking Hopkins or just staying with an offensive linemen is a safer play.
Nonetheless Hopkins did face some good competition this year (Xavier Rhodes, David Amerson, Tharold Simon, Antone Exum, Ross Cockrell, Kyle Fuller, Eric Reid, D.J. Swearinger, Brandon Bishop, Jabari Price, Ryan Smith, Jemea Thomas, Daniel Mack, Eark Wolff, Craig Loston, and Tre Boston).

Our starting LG is Silatolu.
Just like Jon Beason is our starting MLB.
Silatolu hit IR the Wed. before the Saints game. Austin started.
Of course I don't think he'll be that when Silatolu comes back next year but if we had to play next week, he's our starter just like he was during the Saints game, hence he's our starting LG.
