Just to play devils advocate and say that the team announces next Friday that they have hired Beane as the new gm . Would you be pissed they fired Hurney?

Remember if JR hadnt fired Hurney it might not have lit the fire under Riveras ass and he might have lost more games and been shown the door this past Monday.. Just curious because I never did understand the Hurney firing in mid season.

It was a case of better 3 years late than never.

Hurney had to go. Hiring Beane, while a mistake, would not change that.

You mean sell them?

Hoping to make a tidy profit?

We have a lot of "death by hunga bunga" threads lately.

Firing Marty Hurney was absolutely the right decision.

Hiring Brandon Beane over guys who are infinitely more qualified would be an unforgivably stupid one.

Why was firing Hurney midseason the right decision? Im seriously interested in a cogent answer and youre one of the few posters here who could give one.

I would hope Beane had the common sense to not pull the draft day trades Hurney did.
And not spend his offtime fapping while thinking about running backs.

Happy Hurney is gone over here.

Take a look over Hurney's prior drafts and free agency decisions for the past five years or so.

He should have been let go sooner.

And to be clear, midseason GM firings aren't as big a deal as midseason coach firings because most of their work is done in the offseason. Firing him after week six and hiring Accorsi shortly thereafter meant Accorsi had plenty of time to do his work,

Have you tested the market? Interested in what Riveras staying means to fandom.

A stadium with an office for GM Beane is not a stadium that is worthy of my poop.
