[Untouchable]

I've been trying to figure out what's happening with this guy. He quietly started the last 4 games of the year again like last year. Run defense was good again when he started and the pass rush didn't appear to drop off either.I always thought he out performed Fua. With his 3rd year in our system coming up, what are everyone else's thoughts on him. Starter potential, rotational player or cut again?

He is miles ahead of Fua, but then who isn't?

I thought he showed nice progress and should at least be a solid #2 and possibly #1 depending on how the draft/FA shakes out. No matter what happens, there would be no complaints from this corner if Fua never saw the field again.

I always wondered why he wasn't talked about more on here. I think this is the first time I've seen a thread made about him.I like him a lot.

Rivera (for some reason) has extreme faith in Fua... I just don't see it

Well Gettleman is running the show. Things are a changin. Kearse is a jag. You have to consider he plays a little fresher than most guys at the end of the year but he's never gonna be a starter. I think he's one of our better DTs but he doesn't make most of the rosters in the league.

Yeah, but a ton of 1 techs and NT's in the league are just jags, at least in 4-3 D's. You can kinda get away with a jag if the rest of your D-line is solid.

He's a good third or fourth DT, not much more than that at this point.

He has looked good every opportunity he has gotten. Would be fine with him starting next season.

There's nothing to measure him with.

Comparing him to Fua does him no favors, but at the same time, the fact he's not starting with the DTs Carolina has on the roster also says a lot... because the starting Panthers DT's would be hard pressed to be #2's elsewhere in the league
