Well my first draft and off season topic missed quite a bit, but hey, who expected me to be even close to right? With that being said, watching the Senor bowl coverage, looking at our true needs, I've come up with my second and final draft until the week before the draft. A little more real look at it this time.
1. Chance Warmack
Rivera said himself in an interview not long ago that he expected the line play to better after Cam got hit near a league high through the last 8 games last season. I do expect Gross to be back, Kalil will be back from injury and Silatolu will be better. That said we need some more talent to take over for Hangartner and Bell (who has been pretty solid). You win at the line a scrimmage, and giving our RB's better lanes, and Cam more time to throw could make an immediate impact at the beginning of the year.
2. Quinton Patton
Seems high right? I don't think so, watching a reviewing a lot of film this guy is one of the best route runners I've seen. He has incredible control on his feet, can cut on a dime and make defenders miss on the screen. Great at getting separation even when there isn't much room. He has strong hands, catches almost everything that goes his way. I think he will be one of the steals of the draft. Also, Gettleman seems to have a thing about drafting wide receivers high in the draft.
4. Phillip Thomas
With 2 safeties possibly leaving us (Nakamura + Martin), I think we will look for depth at this position.
5. DT
7. K
That's all I got.
Peace.
