still dumb thread though

Peppers in his prime was like a football god walking amongst mortals, keek, just had a very good rookie year.

only way this is even a topic is if you never watched Peppers play in his prime

Absolutely, WHEN peppers played, he was amazing....but the guy wasn't an every down player. Sure he had talent, yes he made amazing plays, and yes OC would poo themselves trying to game plan for him. But I do not believe that he made the impact on every down like Keek does.

Also, here is Peppers stats. I know 2007 was one year, but it was in the middle of his "prime"

now i like keek but come on man this is premature and is a proven monster year after year and game after game! I have not forgotten what he's done here even though he's not here now! both are great but Pep wins that thus far!

Julius Peppers is undeniably the most overrated player in this franchise's history.

Pep got paid for a reason. No owner pays that kinda money to a scrub.

Now, being on this board for as long as I have, and looking from the perspective of the hardcore fans on the Huddle (and before the Huddle, really), I can say with all surety that Jake Delhomme was the most overrated player in this club's history. Jake.

well other than the fact that they don't play the same position and have different responsibilities...

peppers = GOAT talent but didn't want to go to war for this organization and got by mostly on his freakishness. i mean he had a bull rush and that was about it when he was here.

kuechly = not a physical freak but has impeccable technique and a great head for the game and is set to probably become the best in the league at his position in the coming years. top 3 bare minimum.

basically if you took kuechly's head and put it on peppers' body you'd have arguably the best defensive player ever. but things usually don't work like that in the real world.

Dumb thread.

Peppers is one if not the best and most dangerous player to ever play defense for the Panthers!

What???? LMFAO!
Peppers wasn't GREAT? He was a great DE for the Panthers. He now is a good player for the Bears.

I'm guessing you never seen Peppers in a Panthers uniform.

The physical talent edge you'd pretty much have to give to Peppers.

The edge on motor easily goes to Kuechly.

Best overall? Need a few more years of Kuechly to say that for certain.

Peppers was great for us. I also think luke will be great as well. How about I say this? Both has and will make an impact for this organization. I don't understand why people don't like peppers. He was good to us

when Pep was on, there was no one better....but, with that said, he also benefited from a great D-line. Luke on the other hand just has IT. Great instincts, tackling machine, and a high motor. But, they also play different positions. Dan Morgan would have been a better comparison.
