Of course he does because we been so great at that position for years.

I knew you'd come around. :)

I'm amused at the notion that Austin is just a slot receiver.

West Virginia lined him up at receiver, in the backfield, on returns, basically wherever they could create a mismatch. Why in the world would you think we wouldn't do the same if we picked him?

They've seen his WVU highlights, and they've seen the kind of damage the Saints have done with Darren Sproles. Ya think they're gonna ignore those things and just use him in the slot?

Don't think a safety in the first is a good move, but what do I know? I'm Madden addicted fan.

you put him in whatever pigeonhole you feel makes your case against him.

doesn't matter how many ways he can and will actually be used and the fascination teams are having with his skillset and speed and overall talent. the myopic viewpoint will always go back to he's a short slot receiver and that's all there is to him.

almost voted "other", because that could mean the field. Anyone not listed. And there's a ton of guys listed there that would be better than, say, picking a RB, a ST specialist, a QB, and so on, or someone rated 3rd round or later. Any of that Al Davis type stuff.

Voted Cyprien, because getting the 2nd, or possibly 4th, best safety at 14 would be a potential tragedy in some ways, and didn't want the ire of singling out a 5'8 receiver and the baggage that apparently has around here.

Frankly we don't know yet if Mike Shula is capable of such things or even wants a player like that.

Gettleman specifically talked a lot about 'fit' in his presser and the dangers of picking a guy without a plan for him. Austin seems like a player who will either be great or misused depending on the scheme.

I realize Shula could be gone next year, but I don't think we can afford to have our 1st round pick not contribute in a big way this year if we expect to make the playoffs.

On the flip side, if we do pick Austin, I think it will be because they have thought a lot about how to use him, and he could be a very dynamic player for us.

I voted Jesse Williams for two reasons. One, I don't want a DT in the first and two, it would be a massive reach considering he could be there for us in the second.

Richardson, most overrated DT I've seen coming into the draft. I'd rather have datone jones over him

Why if I can ask? What makes Datone Jones better then Richardson?

Plus isn't Jones a DE? If we all agree we need a DT not a DE right?
