If you look at the Accorsi/Reese Giants rosters, the best ones were built with DL depth, such that the line comes with waves and waves of pressure.throughout the game. Looks like Gettleman brought that with him to Charlotte

Bad pick

When I watch Cam once again get hit and hurt, you remember the 2013 draft

And when you watch brees, freeman, and Ryan get knocked on their asses all game, you remember the 2013 draft.

I like the NT/UT combo picks. I'm concerned about the DT bust rate, Though.

But I tend to be waaaaaay off in my DT assessments. I thought Fua would be good. Ignore me.

Our secondary isn't really THAT bad, guys. Not great, but we can survive for a year with Campbell at safety and Captain/Josh Thomas at corner with D.J. Moore in the nickel. It's not like we're the Lions or anything.

Interesting pick and surprising. If there were a starting caliber S/CB I would have been happier but this pick helps the entire defense assuming that Short can start sooner than later.

I almost see this as a 2014 pick. Gettleman is saying when Edwards loses steam we have his replacement ready to go. He must like what he sees in Short but his list of weaknesses is a little long. However Gettleman says he is the best pass rushing DT in the draft.

And this fits in with the rotational stuff we keep hearing, keeping guys fresh.

Will be fun to watch anyway.

Don't hate the pick, and don't love it either. I get the logic but I thought safety or CB was a bigger need earlier.

Yupppppppppp

Ryan Kalil will be back this year and the line will gel. Cam will get rid of the ball a little faster and we will run the ball more under Shula. Our offense is going to be good......Our Defense, on the other hand, is going to be nasty. Quarterbacks better get rid of the ball fast! This line is going to make our secondary look decent.

Our oline was garbage when he was playing

You know it's bad if people are hoping for Josh Norman to start. That man lost a couple of games by himself. Mainly the Bears game and the Atl game come to mind. Naku gets a lot of blame and he should but Norman got burned on that play to Roddy White.

I understand the pick but it seemed like a luxury selection and we still have glaring holes in the secondary and OL.

Still need a WR.

Hopefully I will feel better about it after today's choices.

Perhaps Gettis and Bryant are showing more promise than we thought. Although, I wonder why we worked out so many WRs.

I always wanted to say this..(not really)...Smokescreen!

Some people are never happy. Edwards is in his 30s and doesn't have but a few years left in him to play. Short play behind Dwan and learn from him. Then once Dwan is gone in 2 years or less. Depending if he stays healthy. Short will be prepare to go and can start on the other side of Star. Gettleman knows what he is doing. Look at the Gmen front line as an example. Enough said.

So your logic is that we need Short to step in because Edwards in his 30s? LOL

Steve Smith will be 34 at the start of the season. Gross is on the other side of his career. I don't know who our starting RG is and neither do you. I don't know who our Starting CB or Safety is and neither do you.

But lets double up on a position that was solid after drafting Star. Then you pack it up until Saturday. That's awful

Norman was a rookie; Naka, a seasoned pro. Just saying.

This year will make or break Norman as far as I'm concerned.
