In this order: better offensive play calling, then weaker opponents.

All of those answers are not the reason.  Richardson fired Hurney and told Rivera if he didn't start winning he was next.  Rivera started playing guys who were hungry to make the team and sat guys like Norman and Nakamura who played tentatively. everyone thought that if Richardson would fire Hurney they could be next. They played as if their careers depended on it and they did.........

Ultimatums can be powerful motivators.....

The end of last season, like the previous one is misleading for many reasons.

Bottom line we need a better coaching staff from mini camps to game 16.

It was more the players than Rivera imo. The players were motivated to win after Hurney's departure.

Well it helped that Rivera stopped coaching like a scared woman on gamedays.

Can't get any worse than limp dick football.

OK, but shouldn't the players who were benched now be released as they were the reason we were losing?

Who are those players and why are they still on the roster?

Shouldn't Rivera be fired for playing guys who weren't hungry in the first place?

We will take over 80 guys into camp.  Lets see how they do in July and August.  On the other hand Gettleman thinks that Norman for example learned from being benched and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. I will take a wait and see attitude.

Better playcalling, more pro style sets is by far the biggest reason for the turn around. Followed by the benching of Josh Norman.

Naka never got benched, he had a season ending Injury, which scares me like hell, because I don't want that dude anywhere near a panthers uniform ever again.

He's on the Nick Hayden/Jimmy Clausen list

He needs to be running his own dojo somewhere.
