The olympics is the real thing. I don't put much stock in this. If this was done after the nhl playoffs, it would be bigger than what it is. We could have our choice of  quick, anderson, or howard as our goalie after the playoffs. Kane and Parise would be on the team as well as others.

I agree, but I like that it gives other players the opportunity to showcase their talents to people across the world.

In other news, USA got a big 4-1 win over Finland as Justin Faulk tallied another assist.

Justin Faulk is now second (in the tournament) in defense-man scoring.

The U.S. just got a huge boost, David Backes from St. Louis will join the team (since the Blues were eliminated from playoff contention) in hopes of bringing the gold back to America.

From Rotoworld

Justin Faulk is playing standout hockey for the United States at the IIHF World Championships in Sweden and Finland.

The Hurricanes' defenseman has registered four assists in four games and is playing heavy minutes in all game situations. We have long been touting Faulk as a player to watch. He is now a player to draft. Don't wait too late to select him in your pools next season.

Another solid day for Justin Faulk as he tallies another assist in Team USA's win over Germany.

Canada also got a boost from Canes players as Eric Staal tallied an assist and Jeff Skinner had the game winning goal in Canada's 2-1 win over the Czech's.
