The problem is that he have five rfa's to resign and a draft pick to sign (assuming he makes the roster).

At this point I hope its not Jagr.  We are in over our heads against the cap.  Signing him isn't going to help.  There are better ways to spend that money.  I feel like we are already patching holes with bubble gum to stay afloat.

Jagr would be a good guy to have on the third line with possibly two rookies in Rask and Lindholm but at three million (and especially four million) dollars, it's not worth it.

He's a 41, not 21...

I'm not going to lie though... This line-up looks solid

Jiri Tlusty - Eric Staal - Alexander Semin

Jeff Skinner - Jordan Staal - Tuomo Ruutu

Victor Rask - Elias Lindholm - Jaromir Jagr

Kevin Westgarth - Riley Nash - Patrick Dwyer

Drayson Bowman

Justin Faulk - Joni Pitkanen

Andrej Sekera - Tim Gleason

Mike Komisarek - Jay Harrison

Brett Bellemore

Cam Ward

Anton Khudobin

I think we should really re-sign Brent

JR said a while ago that the door has closed on re-signing any of their UFA's.

How much is Brent asking for? Can't be equal or more to 3 or 4 mil that Jagr wants. JR is a dumbass sometimes.

Justin Peters is the roster move waiting to happen, they are going to get rid of him since he's on a One way contract. There not going to pay him 800k to play goalie in the AHL. Not going to happen.

Was literally just about to say that.

Move Peters and Bowman to free up $1.4 million in cap space.

800K for an AHL starting goalie is pretty much on par. Especially one that can start some games in the NHL every now and then.

There's only about 65 players total in the AHL that make over 105k a season and rookie/entry level contracts are maxed at 70k a season. The average salary of a starting AHL goalie is around 80k a season. Dan Ellis was paid 200k for his Charlotte Checkers salary.

800k would place him in the top 10 pay wise in the AHL, further more it would be nearly half of what Charlotte's current payroll of 1.4 million is. No one on Charlotte's team right now is paid more then 150k a season right now and the team has one of the lowest payrolls in the AHL.

So I doubt that the Hurricanes are going to want to front the bill on Peters making 800k for what's likely to be just AHL duty this upcoming season.
