Barnes does not impact the game like MKG can in terms of defense, bball IQ even passing.

Sure his jumper is better but his off dribble drive is still stiff and unnatural.

Barnes should be a better scorer than MKG and this was expected in the draft.

Barnes ceiling is a Sean Elliot type guy. MKG ceiling is Scottie Pippen(who could not shoot till season 3) impacts.

In the regular season Barnes was lost in the offense and a lesser scorer. Sure he had a decent playoffs but that is what his supporters are basing the comparison on.

MKG if developed a jumper would be a better overall player than Barnes. But, that doesnt mean he will be the better player. It's like saying Paul George is the better player over Carmelo Anthony.

Barnes ceiling is Paul Pierce. MKG is Iggy, my god not Pippen. Before the draft he was gaining some comparison to Pippen, but after seeing him first hand in the pro level as a Cats fan, Im not dumb enough to put him on the same level as Pippen ever again.

You were also the one that thought Noel was the same type player at Anthony Davis.

WOW, you popped out of no where like the rain on a normal North Carolina day.

But, like I said I care more about on court performance than what the stats says. Stats doesnt always tell everything behind something. It's sort of like we are led to believe that you are a mature 36 years old "man", but really in reality you're more like a 20 years old Senior in HS.

I agree with everything you said, except on it being a wash if MKG puts it all together.
Let's say MKG do put it all together in the future, at best he's a better Gerald Wallace or best case scenario Andre Igoudala while Barnes is closer to a Paul Pierce. I'm a huge fan of MKG even when he was at UK, but with what I've seen from both of their careers throughout college till now I believe that Barnes will have a better NBA career and be a better player.

Barnes is Paul Pierce?! Wow.. We will have to disagree on that.

Barnes is closer to young Richard Jefferson... Except without the cross dressing.

Im saying his ceiling is Pierce. Worse case, he's Danny Granger.

But, I'm def not ruling out a Pierce type of career or anything close to it.

Our fans like to say that MKG has the higher ceiling bc of him being in the process of still developing, but really if you think about it Barnes actually has the higher ceiling. Hes still very young and has already shown some very encouraging potential. Who really know what he'll be 5-8 years from now. The kid BALLED being a "rookie" in the Playoffs this past season lets not forget.

In regards to Pippen...Comparing first year stats your right.

MKG is on pace to be better... Statistically.

http://www.basketbal...#per_game::none

In terms of my comp of MKG to Pippen both are defensive small forwards who rebound, pass and slash to the basket.

Pippen was not a shooter at all his first two season until he got a bank shot year 3...Pippen's development is what propelled the Bulls to another stratosphere.

Pippen was 22 his rookie year?! So to deny the comp now is premature in my opinion.

Pippen was 6'8 and an elite explosive otherworldly athlete so I understand the hesitation of the comparison. I see more play making ability in MKG than Iggy however. So maybe a hybrid of Pip and Iggy.

Then that would make you a hypocrite. You denied that Barnes ceiling was Pierce, but are led to believe that MKG will be better than Pippen?

I do hope that MKG can become the next Pippen but really over the years who have ever become the next Pippen? No one. Lets cut it out and get back to reality. MKG ceiling is Iggy, and the closest thing he has to a Chicago Bulls player is Loul Deng, not Pippen.

I would take a Loul Deng ceiling and call it a great pick by Cho if MKG ever reached that point in his career. Both players are very similar just look at the stats. Deng was also a good defender/bad shooter just like MKG in his early years. He has greatly improved that area and became an All Star player for the Bulls.

MKG had always drawn compairson to Iggy/Wallace/Pippen, but I see a lot of Deng in him. I have compared him in the past to Deng too. We or I like to compared him to Iggy and the other guys bc it "sounds good", but really MKG draws a lot of comparison to Deng. And I'll even go on to say that MKG is very similar to Kawhi Leonard, but more athletic.

Damn Chucky...I qualifyied that statement with a "stastically" which is true so far.

Saying he will be better than Pippen was a bit tounge in cheek.

Sorry, I know you live for making draft threads and roster depth charts but as far as NBA we do not see eye to eye on what players can be.

Saying Barnes Balled out when Jarrett Jack was better than him in the playoffs is a bit exaggerated. Danny Green at this stage is a better player than Barnes or pretty even.

Barnes ceiling in Danny Green....

...tounge in cheek again.

Also look up the word Hypocrite as you just misused it in that post.

I lost you at Barnes ceiling in Danny Green. Ok, okay, at Barnes ceiling is Danny Green.

I think I'll end it here bc its kinda hilarious at this point.

(Im hoping you meant Danny Granger, not Danny Green)
