Arsenal supposed to have £400m in transfer funds... I highly doubt they do. I think these £400m went to some people pockets. Aka, Arsenal got defrauded by owner and upper management. Especially after Arsenal owner bought a ranch in Colorado and paid $150m in cash for it when he supposedly still be in debt. Arsene probably got a good chunk to keep his mouth shut.

Lol, Sagna is hurt... Arsenal have no more FB. Who seem injury prone Sagna getting hurt? Not Arsene of course...

To be fair, he took a hell of a shot to the neck. I'm honestly surprised he got up on his own volition. My first thought when I saw it was that he might have broken his neck there. Glad to see he can still walk :)

But yeah, I think Arsenal might be a bit screwed unless they change some things up soon. I never count them out, but they could play spoiler to a lot of teams this season. I agreed with the first yellow on your LCB, but not the second resulting in the red. That was a flop show by the attacker from Villa. Of course, that might have been their version of Wilshire's diving antics. That man cries too much for his own good.

Overall, it was a very, very intense and exciting game from both sides. Your best player today was Rosicki, he is an extremely dangerous man.

Unlikely. They were outplayed for the entire match. RVP will score if given the chance, but the other big boys can play with and above United this season.

Someone tell me why I have 13 soccer jerseys, 4 soccer polos, and a soccer T-shirt all in my closet right now even though I haven't watched a non-international game in years?

The Aston Villa kits are hideous...

The lime green ones are worse. Good start for AV. They were painful to watch at the beginning of last season.

Outside of City, who really improved?  You think Schurrle is going to give Chelsea a big enough boost to overcome the 14 point defecit they had to United at the end of last season?  Hardly.  City might be the only real challengers, but just bc they overpaid on a few overrated players doesn't mean they are going to take some massive leap over United.  United lost no one, save for a disgruntled Wayne Rooney, who we say yesterday can still play and be effective.

Outplayed the whole game?  Then United got incredibly lucky and just happened to score 4 goals.  I watched the entire game, as I have done with every United game for about the last decade, and I saw a lot of posession from Swansea with few really good chances.  United was perfectly fine to let them pass the ball around their own half.  The only reason that they ended up scoring is bc Welbeck had a stupid turnover right outside of his own 18, otherwise it would have been a shutout.  That really sounds like being outplayed to me.

Swansea flat outplayed them, and I honestly don't understand how you didn't see that. United lost quite a bit tactically, which was even noticeable in their awesome Community Shield victory. Losing no one does not mean you walk to a championship again.

And no, I don't think Schurrle is going to give Chelsea a big advantage. However, Morinho will. Morinho is far and away a better manager than Moyes, who managed to win NO hardware his entire stint at Everton.

Playing smash and grab football may work against Swansea City, but I assure you that it will not work against the big boys.  I would be willing to bet right now that United doesn't finish higher than third, and possibly even lower than that.

Its difficult to win trophies when you are on a tight budget and are forced to sell your best players(Rooney, Rodwell, Arteta, Lescott et al) on a regular basis.  It is actually quite impressive that despite this, Moyes managed to keep Everton in the Top 8 of the EPL for the last 7 years.  Especially seeing as when he took the team over they were in the midst of a relegation battle almost every season.

I'm not saying he is as good as Mourinho, but I am sick of people just regurgitating the line of "he hasn't won any trophies" as a reason why he is a poor manager, without doing any real thought for yourself.

United has always been willing to let teams that play that Spanish style of football knock the ball around.  The defense keeps everything infront of them and then counters attacks over and over.  SAF has done it about a thousand times, now when Moyes does it we are getting outplayed?

Ok, spending 11 years at a premier league club and literally winning NOTHING is definitely worth mentioning. Also, being a poor manager =/= lack of premier league championships. No one is saying he's a poor manager. But to suggest that an unproven manager is just going to walk to a championship because he was handed a good team is absurd.

City has a great manager and has made several big signings.  Chelsea has that dingbat manager (who I strongly detest) and he will get the best out of all of his players.

Got the 2-1 win, but it should have been a much bigger deficit.  Probably more like 3-4 goals instead of one....

I think my guys played well today, but not very fluid. Like an OLine, it takes time to gel, and I hope they can get more on the same page throughout the year. I still think we need to buy another striker, as once Soldado went out, the intensity of the push was lacking.

I do like our new guys though, they played like guys who should cost as much as they did. Overall, very optimistic for this season, and if Bale comes back to the fold, we'll give the other top teams a push for the title. May not come to pass, but it won't be as dead easy as it was last year.
