First Half Observations

Offensive line is just not getting enough push in the run.  Would love to say they're doing better against the pass rush but I can't.  The Eagles are getting way too much penetration.

Defense got lucky off of some Eagle mistakes.  The score deficit could definitely be higher.

Kelly's offense looks great now, but I wonder: will the vets running in this up-tempo attack still look this good around week thirteen or fourteen?

Special teams still concerns me.

Thomas Davis still looks good.

Reason to not worry as much: Didn't hear about Dwan Edwards being out but don't recall seeing him.  Did, however, see an awful lot of Sione Fua in with the ones.  Don't expect that to be the case in the regular season.

That said, a rushing TD by Nick Foles?  Come on guys :(

Eagles line has been a lot truer test for the DL than the Bears line was, and I'm happy about that.  One thing though: I sear the Eagles line gets away with more holding than every other team.  That's been true for years (Jon Runyan was a master of it) and sadly, still is.

Mike Mitchell is a bit of a dirty player.  That shouldn't really surprise anyone.

Liking Graham Gano a lot more this preseason.

Michael Vick looked good until the first time he took a decent hit. he was a tad slow to get up after that.  Have to admit that overall, Nick Foles looked better (not by a huge margin though).

Cam Newton has been very up and down in the first two quarters.  Gunslinger QBs are notoriously streaky so that's probably not a big shock either.  Hope some of that gets ironed out by the time the games start counting.

That said, it's clear Newton has way better chemistry with Ted Ginn than Derek Anderson showed last week.  You need a big armed QB for a receiver like Ginn to be a big threat.  Anderson may get a chance to look better in half number two.

Josh Norman gets to pad his pick stats on a final desperate heave.  Josh Thomas also showed up a time or two.

I don't think Luke Kuechly knows any gear other than full speed.

Lord, I hope Chase Blackburn is okay.

Hoping for better in half number two, but it'll be backups so...

I would agree.

But I also have to ask, is Josh Norman really ready for the big time?

I would really like to see Norman against the ones.

Florence has kinda held his own but Every time I look someone's catching over Munnerlyn.

Cam looked downright terrible in preseason the last two years, so I'm with you on this one. I will worry if Cam doesn't have his poo together when the games start counting.

Not really.  At times, he's looked pretty bad.

What makes that not bother me though is the knowledge that Newton is a gamer.  He always looks better when the real pressure is on.  Practice and preseason aren't his thing.

Again, not unusual for the style of QB he is.

Good analysis.  There's a lot to be concerned about.  We'll probably see a lot of roster moves this week.  I hope they can get Wharton back.

Well yeah I mean if Ron wants to set some examples he should do it now instead of waiting until November when we're like 2-8
