I've been told this is funny because it is photoshopped. I still don't find it humorous. Do you?

Taken from "Post a pic, any pic" thread. I was told to take it here, so I obliged.

I see it as making humor out of racism and domestic violence.

Am I alone or am I wrong?

I understand what you are saying but it's a goofy picture in my opinion that someone photoshopped the black eye on to.  I don't think anyone would have commented that the picture was funny if she had an actual black eye.  As far as the racist angle someone else can field that one.

the humor is the implication that she cheated.......  I dont think racism  has any part in this...  domestic violence is an issue that garners some attention though

the black eye and the child's race are photoshopped... at least I think they are...

I wonder how this family feels to know what has been done to their picture, too.

If it was a real picture, no I would not find it funny.

Since it's an internet meme.  It is humorous.

As to how the family feels?  They're not e-famous, they should be happy.

But, don't you think the fact that people can laugh at the idea, even though it isn't real, is at least a subconscious problem?

Meh... not really.

It's funny more because of the setting of the picture than the fact that it's "humorizing domestic violence".

This is just my opinion, but it first fails in the category of humor. It just isn't funny.

I like good comedy that may sometimes cross the line of politically correct, after all i love the roasts on Comedy Central, but the first thing those guys realize that if you are going to go there you better be funny, otherwise you are just a racist asshole.

I don't think the picture is funny, therefore to me it is just relying on racism to create humor, which I'm itself is racially insensitive.

Also, this isn't parody. I also like humor that may use racism as a parody to the absurdity and hypocrisy of racism itself. South Park has effectively done this at times. This picture doesn't accomplish that either.

So to me, this picture is simply saying, "Hey, this guy's wife cheated on him with a black guy so he punched her in the face. Funny right? Right? "

Well, no. Not really.

(Possible) cheating is not funny.

Racism is not funny.

Domestic violence is not funny.

It's a failure on so many levels.

I found it fairly disgusting the first 10 times I saw it, well before it popped up in the picture thread.

It is disgusting.  I mean, who wears sweater vests with short sleeves?
