From what I recall, he not only makes his field goals, but hits them right down the middle with plenty of leg. There hasn't been one close call. In saying that, I fully trust him in any upcoming situation.

I do. I'm really good freinds with Aaron pettrey (kicked for us in training camp a few years ago). I was ragging Gano before the season started and he said "He's got a hell of a leg man" and told me that he's a really solid kicker. He's worked out with him before.

I wish he could have gone for that 59 yarder against the Bucs, not a doubt in my mind he nails it. Dude is Legatron 2.0.

I still would rather have John Kasay.

Gano is one of five kickers still at 100 percent this year on FG attempts.  He boots it out of the end zone most of the time on kickoffs.  Last game, he put one through the uprights.  He's been consistent, accurate, and has a long leg.  Yep, I think we found a good one.  He's young (same age as Kasay was when he came to the Panthers), and probably will get even better.  Speaking of age, Kasay turns 44 tomorrow.  Happy birthday John.
