Why our run D will win or lose this game

29 posts in this topic

Downplay the 49ers Run Game if you want to, We'd like it even more if you do :D

Might want to read again....I wasn't downplaying it. I was pointing out Kapernick's play has been poor.

So as the point of the thread was....if we can stop the run and make you pass.....our odds of winning are pretty dang good IF we can do that. Hence why our run D would win or lose the game.

I don't think there is any doubt as to the strategy we take.  49ers running game is better than the passing game.  Shut down the run, and force Kaep to pass. Same thing we did to Seattle.  I HIGHLY doubt that Kaep can make the same insane plays that Wilson was able to, though [granted, that one throwaway luckily found a Seattle receiver].

If we do that and Cam can handle those intermediate throws while avoiding the pass rush and also dropping one or two deep, we win the game.  I still think it will be close.

Learned something this week, 49er fans just like Cowboy fans. I wonder how "many" became fans once they made it to the Super Bowl? A lot of Bandwagoners out there.

We can't let kaepernick run for first downs and extend drives if we want to win

Worry about Hardy more than CJ not being disciplined on the read for some reason....

Davis has to spy.

Our Dline isn't going to allow poo.

Kaep will be forced to throw and when our pressure is too much he will take off.

We gotta be ready for that or it will be the early Mike Vick years all over again.

If they were losing the media would be on him.

this.

newton had an off game against the falcons and no one has said a word.

a win streak will do that every time.

Posted originally in the wrong topic....just my thoughts...We should gash San Fran between the tackles....they give up just over 4 yds per rush....keep our nice stable of backs rotating with fresh legs and keep kappernickel the elf off the field and we will be fine....keep controlling the clock...long 10-11 play drives that end in points, wear down their front seven and when that safety creeps up into the box let ginn take out his frustrations .....on d we should take a page out of the ravens playbook and have hardy, Johnson and Davis hit kap EVERY time he even hints at a read option put him on his ass...star and dwan need to have a good game to keep from getting shuffled down on those zone reads and let keek roam free.....we can't let Vernon Davis do what tony g did to us in the first half last week....there will be big plays both ways...the team that keeps an even head and responds will win....let's hope San Fran takes us lightly and we come out and smack them in the mouth....I'm going with 21-17 panthers

Kaep is a decent passer but he's been average this year. I'm not scared of his arm and accuracy if he's contained in the pocket. If he runs, Mitchell, Davis and Hardy will kindly remind him why we're being called 'a nasty bunch'. Let's see how many hits he can endure. We're not The Packers.

I hope we see 28 early and often between the tackles....

I think 34 could do better late than early

    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
    • Assholes should've never taken it away in the first place.  Me and a couple buddies had a hookup and were all hyped up and planned out going to it... then the NBA had to get all political and take it out on the city of Charlotte and the fans -- which made no fuging sense.  Seriously doubt we'll even get the chance to go again.
    • 6'6" 255.  He'll definitely have some good mentors with JP, CJ and the rest of the D-Line crew. 255 he'll need to put some weight on don't you think?
