Game Grades - Panthers at 49ers

We had what, like 5 dropped passes? Also, although Cam didn't have a great game, he had some stellar throws on 3rd down and long in the 4th. He did what we needed him to do to win.. stop dropping passes Smitty!

Seahawk game: 3 drops on 3rd down, bad fumble late that cost us the game. Scored 7 points

Zods reaction: OMFG Shula is awful! "7 points". Coaching grade: F-----

49ers game: 3 huge drops from WR's. 2 bad fumbles late that luckily didnt cost us the game. Scored 10 points

Zod: GREAT COACHING. "If receivers could have caught the ball we would have put them away earlier." Scored 10 points . Coaching grade: A+

;) Welcome aboard Zod. Good to know you've joined those of us who can actually analyze football and realize theres a difference between "coaching" and "execution"

Special Teams deserves a B+. The fumble was a freak accident result of a blocked punt. Ginn had great returns, and our guys didn't allow poo on coverage.

I think the offense could really be broken out into position groups for this one:

QB - C

RB - C+ (Would be a B if not for Stew's fumble)

WR/TE - D (Would be an F if not for the couple of clutch catches to offset the drops)

OL - B (All things considered)

Stewart didn't fumble.  The defense player punched the hell out of that ball.

I don't disagree but the fact that SF was gunning for the ball in that situation is Football 101...  can't put it on the ground there.  The Seattle defender punched the hell out of the ball in Deangelo's arms as well, as did Atlanta with LaFell last week.

He's gotta have two hands on the ball there and can't put it on the ground....period.

And your point? That's called a forced fumble.

Thanks to Tolbert, Stew's not getting roasted today for turning the ball over in a critical situation.

    • Speaking of golf, CJ and Tiger Woods had a similar back surgery.
    • To be fair football is a team sport with a bunch of different players on both sides. By all accounts Elliot was sensational last year but the Cowboys still lost their first playoff game..  I don't think anyone's expecting for Fournette to be the primary reason why we could make a deep playoff run. If anything yes he'll take pressure off Cam and make our ground game better. But looking back at that 2015 season, one of the key things is that our defense kept causing turnovers and getting our offense advantageous field position, and also the Oline was healthy and good things happened for the most part. We get back to winning the turnover battle and keep the line healthy somehow, probably a winning record and a decent playoff run.
    • No, I didn't. You are the one who is losing poo here and acting like 13 year girl on her first period.  Grow up.
