SF -1 on Sportsbook right now.  Stunning.  Figured we'd at least get -1.5 at home.

I need a tutorial on how to place a bet on this game. I have a friend in Vegas that will do so for me. What would the returns be?

Anything 3 or less for SF is a win for us. There is a built in -3 for the home team.  At least that is my understanding. If I'm wrong educate me.

So, if you lose, you pay them even more? Lol... how do they enforce that?

You're right Dictator, but that really means Vegas sees the Niners as anywhere from 3 to 5.5 points better than us from the lines posted.

Sportsbook has SF -1.  Home team gets 3 points, which means Vegas thinks SF would be a 4 point favorite on a neutral field and a whopping touchdown favorite at home.

Like I said, incredible disrespect.

The home team getting an automatic -3 is somewhat of a common misconception, like one dog year equalling seven human years.

When I used to hangout at the books in Vegas regularly I saw as being closer to -2/-2.5 if the teams were perceived as an even matchup.

But take a team like Houston at home against say SF, they aren't gonna adjust the line an automatic anything for them being at home.

This has been my experience anyway.

ofcourse.

I was told that if you bet on the futures, like us winning the super bowl at 60 to 1 odds prior to the season, then you only lose what you bet. But, if you bet correctly, you get 60x what you bet in return.
