Alright guys, after letting the frustration and utter disappointment of yesterdays loss finally cool down, I have this to say.  We should all be thankful for the season the Panthers had.  As Panthers fans, we know that a playoff season is a precious commodity.  At 1-3, most fans were calling for Rivera to be fired, and some were even calling for Cam Newton to be benched.  If someone had said Carolina would finish 12-4 and win the NFC South back then, I wouldn't have believed you.  Before the season if someone asked "would you take a 12-4 season and a first round bye in the playoffs?" everyone would have been ecstatic.

There are fans of teams from around the league (not naming names) that would have killed to have the season the Panthers just had.  The Panthers are RIGHT THERE with the big dogs in the NFL.  Despite the loss, Carolina was in the game until the second half.  They didn't lose because of bad calls from the refs, or because of lack of red-zone execution, they lost because most of the team has no playoff experience and didn't make the right adjustments in the second half.  San Francisco has the experience and the talent and it showed on Sunday.  Carolina still needs to get there.  The future is bright.  Add a few more pieces and they will be back even stronger.

Let's just enjoy the fact that the Panthers are not a laughing stock of the NFL right now and enjoy the rest of the season.  KEEP POUNDING.

2013 NFC South Champs, bitches!

I know it's the least a team can accomplish.  But it's something positive.  Baby steps.

Some of us were thankful going into the game. Thinking back to where we've been the last 4 seasons and even at week 4 this season just getting to the playoffs was gravy.

It was a great season with many exciting and heart stopping games.  Let's just hope history doesn't repeat itself and it's another 5 yrs before we make the playoffs again.  Hopefully the team takes yesterday's experience and carries it with them next year and builds off it.

I always go into the offseason opptomistic that the team will address its issues, make improvements, and come back stronger.

This is the first time in a long time that I don't feel like that opptomism is unfounded.

The biggest difference between the '08 playoff game and the '13 playoff game is Cam Newton.  '08 had a veteran QB at the tail end of his career, and '13 has a young QB just getting started with his.  The Panthers will be back.

I agree... this was a MUCH better season than we had a right to expect after the slow start.
