We can not afford to tie up that much money in one position. You sign and trade Hardy for picks / assets.

I had never heard of him and what he said isn't that off base. However, he draws some real ire.

The economics of a sign and trade do not work in our favor.

I think a lot of that is from twitter where he can come off as a smartass and he also covered the Falcons so I bust his balls about being a homer.

How do you know this without knowing the trade agreement or how much of the initial singing is in the form of bonuses and guarantees?

It would be really good for us to resign Hardy, but not at the expense of having to gut the rest of the team.

How many times did Peppers 40.5 sacks during that period get us to the playoffs?

In order to sign Hardy is going to want a big signing bonus. If we trade him the bonus is accelerated to and kills our cap. If the signing bonus is not high enough for him to accept he can just refuse to sign and become a FA.

Just add the signing bonus to his contract in guaranteed money. Im sure there is some way to work things out in favor of both parties.
