Real solid signing. I like this move a lot. It's about time we made a move

Cotchery is one of those guys that has respect around the league. He's not a star but he's a nice role player. The money we gave him was significant considering some of the players we let walk.

Still don't think he'll be a #1. The article seemed sure of it, though.

That article was only implying that Cotchery was the most ( maybe best) WR currenty on our roster, not that he would be the #1 WR  for the season.

The Charlotte Observer article said  Cotcherys specific role in the offense had not been discussed.I would not think we signed him expecting to be our # WR.,maybe a # 3 or #2 at best.

( "Cotchery was not a No. 1 receiver for the Steelers. But he has good size (6-1, 200) and is a physical receiver along the lines of San Francisco’s Anquan Boldin. Cotchery said one of his main roles will be to add the veteran presence in the receivers’ room, but he said he and the Panthers had not discussed what his specific role in the offense would be.")

Agreed. It would be downright insulting to see him wear Smittys number next season.

then we should probably expect it unless JR has a say.

I'm only seeing that we signed him to a two year deal.

@RavensInsider: Final three years of Roman Harper deal are voidable

Thinking Wilson meant Harper for the 5 year
