In fact, Kiper doesn't see any tackles at 28 that will would be better pick for Panthers than a WR. Mel Kiper says he doesn't see an OT he's excited about for the #Panthers to take with 28th pick.
"In Carolina, receiver has to trump tackle" -- Kiper on Panthers' pick at 28. Per dave newton. And I agree 100%. I want a tackle but sorry the value just isn't there...

The draft usually doesn't pan out the way everyone thinks it will. Nobody thought Star would drop to us. Then nobody thought we would take another DT in the second round.

Kiper doesn't know poo - if he did, he would have been working for an NFL team a long time ago.

If Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, and Martin aren't on the board I agree with him.

I agree with him, it would be a reach and possibly missing out on one of the top receivers by the next pick.

Mel needs to first look at the tackles currently on our roster

I think we would be better getting a tackle like thomas acl tear and sentrel Henderson late than forcing benito or some lesser talent in the first.

Well Mr Kiper, I agree 95%. If Lewan's available I don't care if Mike Evans is there too, we gotta take Lewan. Other than him though, yes. WR will be best value at that pick.

I'm actually inclined to agree with him. Outside Matthews, Lewan and Robinson, there's a drop off. I rather take a WR, TE, DB, DE, and OLB than an OT at 28 (unless a big name drops). I'd argue that if Su'a-Filo is available, we take him.

That's about it.

Dear god no. Talk about reaching. It's bad enough both of these guys will end up being RTs at the next level.
