#3255442 Who are the top wide receivers with kick/punt return experience in the draft?

Posted by hepcat on 26 February 2015 - 02:58 PM

No rookies at punt returns please.

Might be before your time but I seem to remember this guy....what was his name....Steve...Robinson?  Jackson?  Oh yea, Steve Smith.  He was a pretty good rookie punt returner.

#3246967 Panthers met with Texas A&M OT Cedric Ogbuehi

Yeah but still

Hogan was picked in the 4th round.  Seems like the Panthers like to take their chances on players who might never play in the 4th round.  Most recently, Edmund Kugzilla

Depends on how his prognosis is for recovery.  Gettleman said straight up they'd only draft players if they knew how long it'd take to get them on the field.  If it's 50/50 he'll be able to play at a high level again, I'd say no higher than 3rd round.  If it's pretty likely he'll come back strong, 2nd round.  Wouldn't draft a player coming off a significant injury in the first round, ever.

Brandon Hogan.  3rd round pick by Hurney.  Coming off of a torn ACL.  Played in 3 NFL games.

That's Josh Norman

#3246565 Fox's Bears switching to 3-4 defense

Posted by hepcat on 19 February 2015 - 01:43 PM

Fox is 60 and had heart surgery a few years ago.  He's probably nothing more than an overseer right now.  Less stress.

The Bears have so much talent on their roster, especially the offense.  They don't need Fox to be too hands on.  Trestman didn't have the respect of the players.  Fox is a coach that commands respect because of his reputation of a "player's coach" and his past success.  I expect them to be pretty damn good next year.

#3246544 Special Teams Coordinator Bruce DeHaven meets with the press....

Posted by hepcat on 19 February 2015 - 01:35 PM

I'm pretty sure Gettleman forced this move.  He and DeHaven started on the Bills in 1986 and worked together for a long time.  He signs on for the first season Gettleman is GM as an assistant because Gettleman knew Rivera's special teams coordinator wasn't so great and now he's ST Coordinator.  I'm sure we'll see a huge improvement.

#3245468 Sounds like the Bucs will pick Jameis Winston

Posted by hepcat on 18 February 2015 - 12:52 PM

They should just pick Winston and be happy with it.  It's the pick they have to make if they have any hope of being competitive in the next 5 years.

#3244604 Panthers Release Safety Thomas DeCoud

Posted by hepcat on 17 February 2015 - 02:28 PM

This was a no-brainer cut with Tre Boston emerging and the $2mil in cap space it saves.  No way they'll cut Harper.

Gotta say it feels good to be reigning division champs with something around $20 million in cap space, with more likely to come, and a young and talented roster.  Carolina is poised to make a big jump in 2015.

#3244448 Would you be okay with Charles Tillman?

Posted by hepcat on 17 February 2015 - 12:53 PM

No - old and slow.  The team is trying to get faster and younger.

#3240795 Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?

Posted by hepcat on 13 February 2015 - 12:27 PM

What has Hardy said that makes you believe he has changed his tune?

Um, when he said he'd "play for free" if Carolina brought him back?  SMH

He can be Cam's backup and they can smile at each other disingenuously all the time
