#2563438 Drive of the week (nfl.com)- Cardiac Cats

Posted by xav8tor on 23 December 2013 - 11:35 PM

Wow... the Saints player #27 blitzing got a great jump, and really kind of just missed Cam.  That last drive was just awesome.

He didn't just miss Cam.  Watch closer, especially the view at 2:09 to 2:10.  Tolbert got a piece of 27 and shoved him out of the play.

#2555117 U.S. Airways Flight from New Orleans

Nice move by US Airways.  Gotta give them credit.  Whoever put that bird on that leg deserves a raise.

#2552119 Sound FX: Cam Newton Week 15 vs Jets

Posted by xav8tor on 19 December 2013 - 09:59 AM

notice Luke pull Captain up and back on to his feet and plow holmes at the same time.  I hadnt seen that angle.

Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke

I just noticed that too.  I wish I had that as a reply gif for the thread where guys were bitchin' about Luke's pass coverage skills et al.  Seriously, how many players at ANY position, at ANY level of experience, would have made that play?  VERY few. Doesn't show up in stats either, but you can bet every guy in a film room sees it and plays it back a few times.

#2519317 Need advice from Panther fans.

Go in tonite. Then "cough cough " leave early with cold

Show up on crowd shot during game, boss watching.  Go to work next day.  Then leave early with a pink slip and an appointment with the unemployment office.

#2471442 So, according to PFF Kuechly is struggling

This forum is hitting the bottom of the barrel this week with many of the threads, but this thread takes the cake.  Seldom have I subjected myself to reading such lunacy.

#2469430 Ted Ginn - Difference Maker

Posted by xav8tor on 05 November 2013 - 08:22 PM

I don't underestimate Ginn's potential and I damn sure don't undervalue good intel.  Time and time again, that has been a key difference between winning and losing, and I don't just mean in football.

#2468512 Who do we root for this week?

Posted by xav8tor on 05 November 2013 - 12:04 PM

I don't mind pulling for ANY teams that make our shot at a WC berth better (just in case, you know).  Think about it.  How cool is it that so many other games actually mean something to us?  It makes Sunday/Monday/Thursday a lot more fun!

#2466234 You have all week to come to terms with this.

Posted by xav8tor on 04 November 2013 - 10:34 AM

I don't care who is playing NO.  Whoever it is, I'm rooting for them to beat the Taints senseless.

#2464862 Hey San Francisco...Carolina's coming and they're bringing HELL with...

Posted by xav8tor on 03 November 2013 - 06:33 PM

Teams are learning to pressure Cam up the middle and collapse.  49ers defense is going to be in his face constantly.

Our OC best dial up something to handle that which won't involve 5 to 7 step drops.

They are going to need to run and run effectively and no turn-overs, not one.  Every scoring opportunity is going to matter.

As the defense, Vernon and Collin all day long.  TD on Collin and Luke on Davis and everybody else will need to do their jobs.

I would think this would be a great game for Ted Ginn to make them pay for getting rid of him  on special teams.

Hopefully Ginn can show up on a few long pass plays as well as on ST.  With his recent experience in SFO, it would also be nice if we can pump him dry for decent intel on SF.  That's helped us before.

#2459072 "Luke Kuechly defines what a freak is."

Posted by xav8tor on 31 October 2013 - 03:12 PM

Panther players have specifically talked about the power Thomas Davis can generate in two steps and unleash.  Luke can't do that like Davis.

that ability to thump and unleash on someone....factors in to this discussion I would believe.

Luke can't do this like Davis...or anyone else for that matter?  Man when I see the gif above your post I arrive at a TOTALLY different conclusion.  Zero to sixty in two seconds flat with eight million foot pounds of torque.

#2456452 Get Cam Newton out your mouth, Mike Bellotti (just another opinion is all)

Posted by xav8tor on 29 October 2013 - 06:49 PM

How the hell would this guy know ANYTHING about how much time Cam puts in studying film, the playbook, working with coaches, etc.?  Seems I recall hearing Cam had a pretty damn good work ethic.  He even went over film with his father and brother in the off-season to address his sideline demeanor.

You know what they say opinions are like...and everybody has one...and sometimes they stink.

#2453715 "This isn't Kansas City or Carolina..."

Posted by xav8tor on 27 October 2013 - 09:58 PM

Is there going to be a new thread everytime the Panthers get mentioned somewhere?

After years of agony and irrelevance, if it's a legit media outlet, and positive, then yes, and rightly so.

#2452759 New Orleans Saints vs Buffalo Bills GDT

Posted by xav8tor on 27 October 2013 - 12:55 PM

Gotta give that Bills QB credit.  Not too many guys would come back from that first quarter and lead a drive like that.

#2452229 Do you trust Graham Gano?

Posted by xav8tor on 26 October 2013 - 09:24 PM

Gano is one of five kickers still at 100 percent this year on FG attempts.  He boots it out of the end zone most of the time on kickoffs.  Last game, he put one through the uprights.  He's been consistent, accurate, and has a long leg.  Yep, I think we found a good one.  He's young (same age as Kasay was when he came to the Panthers), and probably will get even better.  Speaking of age, Kasay turns 44 tomorrow.  Happy birthday John.

#2452109 Does our D seem to be wearing down or am I just spoiled?

Posted by xav8tor on 26 October 2013 - 05:42 PM

These player/O/D/ST threads lately are nearly as bad as off-season threads.  Good grief guys, do you really think our D is THAT overhyped, tired, lucky, etc.?  The OP acknowledges the stats and then essentially disses them by pointing out borderline legitimate, but even so, minor issues that WILL be addressed.  The front four is beastly.  Our LB core is arguably the best in the NFL.  Our allegedly patchwork secondary has stepped up, even getting some startlingly good play from a couple of undrafted rookies.  If we're that shaky right now, imagine how good this defense will be when it matures and a few more playmakers are brought on board.  We're above .500 for the first time in five years, have a D that is near the top across the board, an offense that is starting to click, and we don't automatically think "oh crap" every time the ST takes the field like we were doing not that long ago.

TLDR: Don't worry, be happy mon.
